Snail Trail Block Challenge
September 2026 Block of the Month
Due at the October 20, 2026 Guild Meeting
Join us for the Greenville Quilters Guild’s September Block of the Month challenge! Members are invited to make two matching Snail Trail quilt blocks as part of our year-long effort to create quilts for charitable giving.
About the Challenge
The goal of this ongoing block challenge is to create at least 12 charity quilts over the course of 12 months.
Each month, Guild members will create matching quilt blocks based on the featured pattern. The submitted blocks will help build quilts that can be donated through the Guild’s community outreach efforts.
For September, we are making the classic Snail Trail quilt block.
September Block Requirements
Please make two identical Snail Trail blocks.
Each block should be:
-
12½ inches unfinished
-
Made primarily with blue and yellow fabrics
-
White may be used sparingly
-
Prints and solids are both welcome
Your two completed blocks are due at the October 20, 2026 Guild meeting.
What Happens to the Blocks?
Each month, participating members will be entered into a drawing for half of the submitted blocks.
The remaining blocks will be collected by the Guild and used to create a charity quilt.
A prize will also be awarded as part of the monthly challenge.
By participating throughout the year, Guild members will help us work toward our goal of completing at least 12 charity quilts in 12 months.
